Serving Communities Since Our Founding

A Foundation Built on
Compassion & Service

The Bhagwant Devi Foundation was established in the memory and spirit of Dr. Bhagwant Devi Pathai — a physician of extraordinary compassion who devoted her life to the service of others. We carry forward her legacy by working for social justice, community empowerment, and the well-being of every person, regardless of their background.

Our Vision

A hospital where no patient is ever turned away for inability to pay — the dream she held every day of her professional life.

Our Approach

We build the hospital through donations, book royalties, and community support — one brick at a time, in her name.

Our Commitment

Complete transparency, accountability, and integrity. 10% of all patients treated free — permanently and irrevocably.

What We Stand For

Every action we take is guided by our core mission pillars — the values that drive our work every single day.

Education for All

Ensuring that no child is denied quality education due to poverty or circumstance. We fund schools, scholarships, and learning centres.

THE 10% PLEDGE — OUR FOUNDING AND IRREVOCABLE COMMITMENT

The Dr. Bhagwant Devi Pathai Memorial Hospital shall permanently and irrevocably provide free medical treatment to a minimum of 10% of all patients — regardless of their financial status, religion, ethnicity, or any other consideration.

This is not a policy. It is not a target. It is the permanent founding obligation of this Foundation, written into our Trust Deed and Foundation Charter, which states explicitly that this commitment may never be amended, reduced, suspended, or removed by any trustee, administrator, or authority, for any reason, at any time.

It is the permanent living memorial to her motto: SERVE HUMANITY

Women Empowerment

Supporting women through skill development, legal awareness, self-help groups, and economic independence programs.

Rural Development

Working with rural communities to improve sanitation, livelihood, agriculture support, and infrastructure access.

Child Welfare

Protecting children from exploitation, providing nutrition support, and creating safe learning environments.

Legal Aid & Rights

Providing free legal awareness and support to marginalised communities who lack access to justice.

What We Are Building
